Mandarin Immersion Summer Camp
In June 2025, Imagine Taiwan will launch its first Mandarin immersion summer camp, providing a fully immersive Chinese language environment. Campers will naturally acquire new vocabulary through hands-on activities while engaging in outdoor adventures. This unique program is designed to help learners dramatically advance their language skills through practical, experiential learning. The Mandarin immersion camp creates a complete Chinese environment where learners advance their language skills through practical, experiential learning.
Campers learn through experience, naturally acquiring new vocabulary as they participate in hands-on activities. The camp is not a buxiban (cram school). There is no standardized Mandarin learning time, textbooks, or tests. The program immerses campers in a Mandarin-speaking environment where they can engage in outdoor adventures and gain more exposure to the language.
A Family Adventure
What makes the Mandarin Immersion camp unique is the opportunity for parents to join in select activities, creating cherished memories together. On other days, parents can enjoy curated activities for adults, offering a chance to relax, connect, or explore something new.
Does my child need to speak Mandarin?
All levels of Mandarin ability are welcome!
Mandarin-speaking coaches and instructions will be given in Mandarin. Campers will be encouraged to speak Mandarin Chinese to each other. For those who may not have the best understanding, we can still give important safety talks in English as safety is our #1 priority. This also allows local kids to sign up, creating more of an intercultural mix and letting campers from abroad also engage with more individuals.
Bilingual Camp
Imagine Taiwan’s camp creates a natural linguistic ecosystem where language learning thrives organically. While the classic summer program primarily operates in English, a vibrant multilingual environment brings together children from diverse backgrounds, including local Taiwanese students. The bilingual coaching staff ensures smooth communication, allowing Mandarin learners to interact with native speakers through shared activities and play.
The magic happens in unscripted moments during team challenges, outdoor adventures, and creative projects where language barriers fade and authentic cultural exchange flourishes. This organic approach to language acquisition enables children to practice Mandarin in real-world contexts while building cross-cultural friendships.
The technology-free policy at Imagine Camp allows children to be fully present in each experience and forge genuine connections without digital distractions.

As we celebrate Imagine’s milestone 10th anniversary, we reflect on a journey that began with a simple yet powerful vision. Founder Peter Tupper first brought his passion for adventure sports to Beijing through school ski expeditions.
